About Jared Nash
Jared Samuel Nash (born on November 11th, 2002) is an American trader & teacher from Miami, Florida. He primarily day trades the equities market, but his trading career began in foreign exchange. He is a 2x funded proprietary trader with FTMO. He is also a lifelong martial artist and has almost 7 years experience of being a teacher. He is the founder & CEO of Selfmade Trading.
Jared has a passion for teaching and for the financial markets. He had developed a career in teaching martials arts and decided he could apply the same skill to teach traders his knowledge of the financial markets. After struggling to find success in the markets, he finally cracked the code and realized he could share the same information with other people that were in the same shoes as him.
Trading History
Jared started trading in late 2019, right before the COVID-19 pandemic struck. He started off as a victim of a notorious MLM – IM Academy. He was trading forex using strategies like support & resistance, trendlines, and indicators. After having little to no success with their teachings, he went out on his own in search of
something new. Something that would actually work.
He later came across Smart Money Concepts and Wyckoff Theory, which are very common methods nowadays. But 3 to 4 years ago, it was unheard of. This was to the thanks of mentors such as ICT, Mentfx, and Smart Money Source. He had major success with this way of trading, and quickly pursued getting funded with large capital to trade with. He became a funded trader with FTMO, until this day many years later.
One of Jared’s most notable trades was predicting Bitcoin’s top at 64k and short selling it. Most people thought it was very risky and called him crazy for doing it. At the time, everyone believed that Bitcoin would go to $100,000. However, to Jared it was obvious that Bitcoin would sell off. This trade came from technical and fundamental analysis of the macro environment that we were in. This built a lot of credibility for him in online trading communities.
Another one of Jared’s feats was taking another FTMO challenge for fun and passing it in 1 trade. Many traders struggle to pass the FTMO challenge, and he did it with ease. This solidified his authority to teach others how to make money in the markets. He realized that he could help traders by sharing the secrets to his success, and mistakes he previously made, so that traders could avoid them and reach their goals faster.
Teaching Experience
Jared has been doing Tae Kwon Do since he was 4 years old. When he was about 14 years old, his lifelong mentor
and instructor opened his own dojo, and he hired Jared to be an assistant instructor. This is where Jared learned how to teach. He taught small children, teenagers, adults, and even special needs students. This is where his passion for teaching was born.
Jared also realized that there was a major benefit to teaching. It ended up making him a better martial artist. His skills drastically improved when he started teaching. That’s because he wasn’t only teaching students – he was also teaching himself. The same lessons that he was teaching for 4-5 hours every single day became ingrained in him.
He decided to apply this same theory to his trading. It was his belief that if he could teach people how to trade, then possibly he would become a better trader. To this day, he credits the majority of his trading success to the fact that he began to mentor traders.
